MUST HAVE: Stella McCartney

If I had to sum up Stella McCartney it would go something like this 'It's what the cool kids wear'.  Seriously, the label has that kind of nonchalant chicness to it and no matter your personal style be it casual oversized sweater and boyfriend jeans, an executive looking for tailored suits, or just a fashion girl into cocktail dresses Stella has you covered.

The Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2014 collection is now available in stores.  Like many of you I'm an instant gratification shopper; I want to buy my fall wardrobe in the fall and wear it immediately.  Unfortunately, if you wait for the change in weather chances are those key pieces will be sold out.  Below are my top 2 MUST HAVE picks from the Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2014 collection.  Happy shopping.

TREND ALERT: Playing with Proportions

If you follow my blog you know the 'oversized' silhouette isn't new however, it is more prevalent.  For fall 2014 we see more designers/labels adapting the trend and in some cases expanding it.  At Acne Studios we saw the removal of darts/seaming in the bodice, lending a boxier look.  Phillip Lim gave us a dropped armhole seam for an exaggerated/rounder shoulder.  Wide leg trousers, large gauge knits, exaggerated lapels you name it we saw it.  This growing trend gives an easy/relaxed element to dressing so jump on board and add it to your fall wardrobe now.

COLOR STORY

Vibrant, bright, uplifting...are not usually adjectives used to describe fall colors.  However, that was a dominant trend that emerged on the Fall 2014 runways. Dior, Thakoon, Altuzarra, Agnona, Versace were catalysts for the vibrant color story.  Why not shake things up?
