TREND ALERT: Playing with Proportions

If you follow my blog you know the 'oversized' silhouette isn't new however, it is more prevalent.  For fall 2014 we see more designers/labels adapting the trend and in some cases expanding it.  At Acne Studios we saw the removal of darts/seaming in the bodice, lending a boxier look.  Phillip Lim gave us a dropped armhole seam for an exaggerated/rounder shoulder.  Wide leg trousers, large gauge knits, exaggerated lapels you name it we saw it.  This growing trend gives an easy/relaxed element to dressing so jump on board and add it to your fall wardrobe now.

LABEL LOVE: The Row

Earlier this month Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen accepted the CFDA award for Accessories Designer of the Year.  Mary-Kate and Ashley are designers of fashion label The Row, their handbag collection can be described as simple/understated, chic, and luxurious; it combines classic shapes with luxe details and finishes (i.e. a python tote with leather lining).

Happy Birthday Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen!  Today just happens to be the designers birthday, couldn't think of a better time to show some 'label love'. The Row handbags can be found at fine retailers like Bergdorf Goodman, Barney's, Net-a-Porter, and Saks.
