TREND ALERT: Playing with Proportions

If you follow my blog you know the 'oversized' silhouette isn't new however, it is more prevalent.  For fall 2014 we see more designers/labels adapting the trend and in some cases expanding it.  At Acne Studios we saw the removal of darts/seaming in the bodice, lending a boxier look.  Phillip Lim gave us a dropped armhole seam for an exaggerated/rounder shoulder.  Wide leg trousers, large gauge knits, exaggerated lapels you name it we saw it.  This growing trend gives an easy/relaxed element to dressing so jump on board and add it to your fall wardrobe now.

CURRENT OBSESSION: Celine Berlingot Clutch

This season's must have accessory once again hails from Celine.  Phoebe Philo who gave us the luggage tote introduces her latest hit; the Berlingot Clutch.  Inspired by the French pyramid candy, this clutch is major.  Available in a variety of colors and textures from brushed mohair, shirred mink to woven leather.  I suggest putting your pre-order in now as I predict other designers will soon be creating their own version of this soon-to-be classic.

Whether it's an exaggerated lapel, dropped armhole, rounded shoulder or long/flared hem: the over-sized coat is the must have addition for fall.
