Shoe Star: Camilla Skovgaard

Camilla Skovgarrd is the must-have shoe label. Her shoes are a mix of art and fashion and have quickly become a favorite amongst the fashion crowd. With luxury footwear retailing at $700+, Camilla Skovgaard gives you style and quality at a reasonable price point $400-600.

Red Carpet Rundown: Gwen Stefani

We're all guilty of it, I mean a celeb on the red carpet how can you not look. Although I look I don't normally discuss I leave it to the main-stream press, but I have to make an exception here. This look has stirred up rumors and gossip in the industry most of them related to Stefani taking credit for the amfAR Gala gown even though the design is said to be Michael Angel's.

The truth:

-Gwen Stefain wore this L.A.M.B custom gown to the 2011 Cannes amfAR Gala. The design was a collaboration between Stefani and designer Michael Angel. After the event the gown was auctioned off and raised $125,000 for amfAR.

Now let's get to what we're all here for...the fashion; Gwen looks amazing- a somkey eye and gold jewelry give this elegant dress a bit of an edge. Sorry Aniston, this is how you work a red carpet.

Label Love: FENTON/FALLON Jewelry

Jewelry designer Dana Lorenz brings us two labels to love Fenton and Fallon. After stints at Gucci and Donna Karen, Lorenz started her own jewelry label Fenton in 2006. Fenton offers the fashion conscious a mixture of luxury and the unexpected ala gold/crystal necklace matched with rope. A year later in 2007 the fusion line Fallon was born; a lower priced diffusion line of “graphic layerable pieces”.

Okay, so now that you have the back story check it out for yourself; these are just a few of my favorite pieces for your viewing pleasure. For more information visit www.fallonjewelry.com and http://www.fetonusa.com/.

Fashion File: Nicole Richie

There are those memorable moments in fashion plaid shirts in 93', knee high socks in 95', metalics in 00'....one of my favorites is Nicole Richie circa 05'. What can I say I grew up with her as a household name and when she revamped her look in 2005 she became a style icon in my book so I thought why not show some love by posting a few of my favorite looks.

Men's Style: Get the Look

After discussing men who know how to dress I thought it was only fair to give you some looks to get you inspired...Jeans and a t-shirt are always a go to but remember when doing a casual look it's important that the clothes still fit properly and why not add some cool accessories to give an interesting detail to the look. For those less casual guys try some sneakers to make that blazer less stiff....above all be comfortable but always put together.

Men's Style

While on my way to work the other day I ran into none other than Brad Goreski...you know the talented celebrity stylist and ex-co-star of the Rachel Zoe Project. He was looking chic in his signature tie/vest combo with distressed jeans and it got me thinking about men's style.

Although my background is in women's design and styling, I think it is way past due for me to give a little acknowledgement to the men who understand the art of fashion and give you and the men in your life a few inspirational/inspirational ideas to build your look. My top five guys with style (in no particular order) include:

-Marc Jacobs; he has kept the masses stylish for decades and in the past few years he has shifted focus to himself and stepped up his own look. Whether its a kilt or jeans Jacobs makes it work

-Brad Goreski; always looks put together no matter where he goes, and who doesn't like a bow tie?

David Beckham; enough said

Kanye West; no matter what you think of him Kanye not only understands fashion but supports the industry, lets face he's got style

Look of the Day

Since we were discussing street style I thought it's only fair to give you a look to lust after. Being a bit over the top never hurt anything after all the street is your runway...

OBSESSION: Tommy Ton

Yes, I have an addiction...Tommy Ton the street style photog contributor to style.com, GQ and JAK & JIL blogger keeps me coming back for more. He has an eye for style and keeps me motivated to always look my best.

Pretty in Pink

I know, original right? What can I say, Kate Foley (see below) featured in the April Vogue issue looking amazing in Jill Sander and Prada reminded me of what a little punch of color can do to your look. Black is always a staple for this New Yorker, but when done right I can totally embrace color. So let these images get you inspired to add a lil' somethin' somethin' to your look.

Summer Style

Summer is good for a lot of things; the beach, vacations, working on your tan...it's not so great for FASHION...cut the shit ,you know it's hard to look chic when your running all over Manhattan with sweat running down your face.

I could never style someone in a floral maxi dress or recommend carrying a straw tote in place of your Givenchy. I can however offer this; when the tempeture rises you want to be comfortable and stay cool but just because you shed the layers from fall doesn't mean you have to wear denim cut-offs and flip flops. Instead, might I suggest keeping it simple; an oversized tee a long skirt, layering statement jewelry instead of scarves, and a pop of color will keep you cool, comfortable and in style.
