FALL 2011

I know it took me awhile but better late than never I suppose. I couldn't call myself a fashion blogger and not highlight some of the key looks shown for Fall 2011. At this point I'm sure you've seen the shows or atleast the coverage so I'm not going to bother with a full-on analysis just some highlights to get you in the mood for the season ahead....

-SEEING RED; Rodarte, Kors, Wu, Rucci, Gurung the crimson color popped up throughout the collections

-CLOAKS/PARKAS; ADAM, Band of Outsiders, Altuzura featured the cloak and/or parka to protect us against the winter weather

-CLASHING/PATTERNS; Proenza, DVF, Libertine, Thakoon showed us how to make clashing patterns somehow work

It's good to be bad

"I may be bad but, I'm perfectly good at it...." Maybe it's the song stuck in my head or perhaps the change in weather. Regardless, when I'm walking down 5th and see a swarm of floral summer dresses passing by I can't help but roll my eyes. So mix it up a bit I mean gold and leather? Always in style. Gladiator sandals? I don't think so go ahead and replace them with spiked heels, oh and that raffia clutch? No thanks I'll stick with the birkin. Add an edge to your look; strap on those boots, light up that cig and strut your shi...

Icon Status: Sunglasses

Yes it's that time of year again. I am not looking forward to the heat and sweating my ass off all over Manhattan but, I am looking forward to the season of the sunglasses. I know you wear yours all year round, but when the coats and layers come off, your eyewear tends to become the star of the show.

When I hit the stores I'll be back with my favorite pick of sunglasses for the moment...until then here's some inspiration and iconic eyewear for you to drool over. Warning: If you're not a fan of the HUGE sunnies you can turn away now Me, I'm a fan maybe 'cause I think I have a big round face and I need to compensate, or maybe it's just 'cause nothing says I'm an important SUPERSTAR like super-sized frames.....Louis Vuitton 'Bindi' Sunglasses circa 2007

LOUIS VUITTON: Speedy Monogram Bandoulière

The fashion Gods have answered your prayers, and this Spring/Summer Louis Vuitton introduces the Speedy Monogram Bandoulière. Yes, the iconic LV Speedy gets functional with a shoulder strap. I for one can not wait to get my hands on (and stuff in) the Speedy 40....as much as I love my Keepall 45 it's just a tad too big sometimes, don't we all have to scale back a bit from time to time?

Not that I EVER feel as if I need to explain myself when it comes to STYLE/FASHION however, I do want to say this- I am not a logo freak or one of those people that camp outside of Gucci every time a new bag comes out I am however, a simple servant spreading the word of style and above all I am practical when it comes to investing my money. Hence, the reason why I keep coming back to Louis Vuitton- the shape is classic, the strap functional and maybe the most important quality.

So....save, invest and enjoy for years to come
