It's definitely the most talked about accessory collection of the year. The Chanel Spring/Summer 2014
collection has a 'hand-made' feel featuring painted canvas fabric,
braided cord tassels and chains in silhouettes including the classic
flap bag, tote, and backpack. Many fashion bloggers are loosing their
minds over it; creating their own 'DIY' versions and debating over the
prices (pieces from the collection are in the $3,000+ range) for the
art's-and-crafts canvas and paint designs. Celebrities and
fashionphiles on the other hand are flocking to their local Chanel
boutiques and making this collection a staple in their wardrobes.
I
personally love this collection....yes, the price is a bit steep but if
you have it spend it. Whatever your take on these accessories is know
this; the graffiti trend is about to explode. Yep that's right, mark my
words; this is a trend that is soon to trickle down and come to an
H&M/ZARA/FOREVER21 store near you.

The Met: Punk Chaos to Couture
....After a year hiatus I'm making my way back, just like my favorite fashion event The Met Gala. It's like Christmas for the fashionistas' in all of us.
This year celebrated one of my favorite fashion movements- PUNK. Without which I might not have found my way into the fashion world...why it seems like yesterday I was putting safety pins in my shirts, experimenting with fabric paint, and making my own clothes. Of course I've grown out of that phase however, the inspiration is still there and it's refreshing to see the serious fashion crowd pay their respects.
My favorites on the red carpet included Sarah Jessica Parker in McQueen and Christina Ricci in Vivian Westwood- bizarrely enough not everyone got the memo as to what the theme was (eh hem Kim K, don't even get me started on why she was invited anyway)....And inside the exhibit RODARTE stole my heart after all I have been obsessed with their Fall 2008 since it first showed.
The exhibit runs until August 14th, get there before it's gone.

Icon Status: Sunglasses
Yes it's that time of year again. I am not looking forward to the heat and sweating my ass off all over Manhattan but, I am looking forward to the season of the sunglasses. I know you wear yours all year round, but when the coats and layers come off, your eyewear tends to become the star of the show.

When I hit the stores I'll be back with my favorite pick of sunglasses for the moment...until then here's some inspiration and iconic eyewear for you to drool over. Warning: If you're not a fan of the HUGE sunnies you can turn away now Me, I'm a fan maybe 'cause I think I have a big round face and I need to compensate, or maybe it's just 'cause nothing says I'm an important SUPERSTAR like super-sized frames.....
